Juiquetta Harmon is a trailblazing entrepreneur, Licensed Master Barber, and community champion who transforms lives one conversation—and one haircut—at a time.
Known affectionately as KIKI THE BARBER, she has built more than just a business; she’s created a movement that celebrates authentic connections and the power of community.
Juiquetta’s journey began in Illinois where she discovered her calling as a salon assistant while finishing high school. What started as a part-time job evolved into a passionate pursuit of Trichology and Tonsorial Arts—a path she never could have imagined would lead to making history.
Not long after high school graduation, Juiquetta’s rock of love, light and laughter; her mother passed away after decades long health battles. Two years later she became the primary caregiver for her father for thirteen years after a massive stroke leaving him in a vegetative state. She saw so many miracles during this time, including her father’s full recovery and restoration of not only his health, but their relationship. Juiquetta had no idea her gift of intentional care and presence with her parents was a seed of untapped ministry being cultivated.
She moved here to Oxford in 2016 to support the establishment of another business here in town, during which her father passed away in 2017. Juiquetta’s faith in Jesus and the resilience, contagious joy, and love for every person her parents poured into her is what fuels her. She went on her own that year as an independent contractor, and established herself as an entrepreneur. The business she came here to build was actually building her as the living bridge for connection that she is today.
In 2021, Juiquetta shattered barriers by becoming the first Black woman business and barbershop owner in Oxford. She received Businessperson of the Year from Alignable, followed by the prestigious Business of the Year award from the Oxford Chamber of Commerce in 2022. She is the 2024 nominee and recipient of the STOREFRONTS TO THE FOREFRONTS GRANT provided by Cincinnati Regional Chamber, Huntington Bank, and Duke Energy collaboration to support and encourage small businesses making a big impact in their region. These accolades reflect not just her business acumen, but her unwavering commitment to excellence and community building.
As the proud owner of KIKI THE BARBER + THE STYLE COLLECTIVE, Juiquetta has created more than a barbershop—she’s built a sanctuary where people feel seen, heard, and valued. Her infectious love for people and natural ability to foster genuine connections have made her establishment a cornerstone of community life.
